Evelyn Lundberg Stratton
Justice Evelyn Lundberg Stratton, Retired, served for 16 years as a Justice on the Supreme Court of Ohio and for 7 years as a trial judge. She now devotes most of her time to mental health reforms in the criminal justice system.
Justice Stratton for decades has worked both in Ohio and nationally on issues involving those with mental illness in the criminal justice system. She established the Supreme Court of Ohio Advisory Committee on Mental Illness & the Courts, which then merged into the Attorney General's Task Force on Criminal Justice and Mental Illness, serving for 8 years as co-chair with the former Attorney General DeWine, and which she now continues as co-chair with Attorney General Yost. She serves on Governor DeWine's Recovery Ohio Advisory Council, which advises the Governor on addiction and mental health policy issues and heads the Ohio Stepping Up project. Eve has worked both nationally and in Ohio on setting up Veterans Treatment Courts and Veterans Justice Outreach Specialists. In addition, she is Project Director of Stepping Up Ohio, which works in over 50 counties and at the state level to assist jail and the community to reverse the trend of those with mental illness cycling through the criminal justice system. She also does appellate coaching, mediations and private judging through the Vorys law firm.
