Artists’ Statement
Lines and colors have traced the journey of my life and are the underlining foundations of all my work. They are how I see the world and how I view myself. I strive to make images that evoke a sense of wonder. Regardless of the simplicity or complexity of a work, I try to capture the moment, the essence, and always the beauty of my subject matter. It is difficult to write about what you love the most without being effusive, just as it is difficult to create art and not see the ordinary or reveal too much of the intent.
“When you go out to paint, try to forget what object you have before you- a tree- a house, a field, whatever. Merely think, here is a little square of blue, here an oblong of pink, here a streak of yellow, and paint it just as it looks to you, the exact color and shape, until it emerges as your own naïve impression of the scene before you.”
Claude Monet
